Boat cruises on a plane at 3400 rpm doing 16-17 mph (14-15k) [depending on water surface] using ~ 12 gph of regular ethanol free gas or 1.5 miles per gallon. Obviously slower or hull speed gets better mileage. Top speed is ~30mph. We have used a Honda 2000w inverter on long trips to increase our ability to spend time on the hook. An adapter connects the Honda right into the shore power plug.
